Get and keeps nymphs down where the fish are
Hot Beads are colored brass beads designed to weight your nymphs and get them down where the fish are. They’re countersunk to allow the tyer to slide them on easy (small hole slides on first). The color is achieved with a baked enamel finish over a base coat. This makes them very durable and the colors vibrant. We like to use double and sometimes triple beads on bigger nymphs like Stoneflies to really drop them deep fast, especially in rough water. They have their place in saltwater flies too. We use these on keel style flies like the Avalon Fly to add extra weight and noise of the beads rattling against each other.
